Third Haven Friends Meeting
405 South Washington Street
Easton MD 21601
Common Room*
Join us for our Annual Meeting with guest speaker Matt Pluta, ShoreRivers Choptank Riverkeeper and Director of Riverkeeper Programs. His topic: Water Threat on the Eastern Shore: Development Pressures and Waste Water Issues. Matt will set us up for the business we will attend to in preparation for the start of another year of Making Democracy Work!
Our Annual Meeting is when we and our supporters get together to celebrate our League efforts over the past year and set the direction for our work over the coming year. Our main purpose is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in Government and to act on selected governmental issues. We do this in a strictly nonpartisan way: we neither support nor oppose any political party or any candidate; we seek to make democracy work for us all. During our time together we will consider member recommendations for what and how to make progress on the issues of concern to those who live in our tri-county area of Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot Counties.
If you are curious or have concerns and want to see us in action, RSVP before April 24th so we know to expect you.
We hope to see you then!
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
* The Common Room is in the modern building straight past the red-brick building directly across from the main gate. There is a small parking lot in front of the Common Room that should be used for those who have trouble walking. All others should park in the large parking area to the right of the main gate at the top of the lane denoted by the historical maker on South Washington Street at the entrance to the property.
